MGSV-TTP-main-art-1

During Gamescom last week, we saw some alternative Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain gameplay footage from what was originally shown during the E3 demonstration.  Even though the Gamescom footage was during the same mission/location as to what was shown at E3, it was alternative in the respect that a different approach was taken.

During the later stages of the E3 demo, we saw the Motherbase being attacked by another online player.  You will be able to upgrade your Motherbase with extra guards, weaponry and various defence mechanisms to help defend yourself from other intruding players.  However, during the special Gamescom MGSV: The Phantom Pain event, it was revealed that at Gamescom the role of the Motherbase will be reversed and this time round, you will be the one attacking someone else’s base.  Which leads me on to today’s footage.

The demo video below is the one that we saw at Gamescom last week, but from just before the video hits 17 minutes, you will see the footage of you (the player) attacking another players Motherbase.  This new gameplay footage not only shows how you can attack and reclaim stolen items, but also help yourself to a few extras too.  So please enjoy this footage, especially as the awesome folks at IGN have presented this video in glorious 1080p.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is expected (though not confirmed) to release next year for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
