Markus ‘Notch’ Persson, responsible for Minecraft has unveiled his lastest project entitled, 0x10c. Although the new space-age game sounds intriguing and reasonably far along the progess track, he makes clear that on the official website, “the game is still very early in development.”

Persson provides a little teaser to its backstory to set nerd tongues wagging, claiming the game is set “In a parallel universe where the space race never ended, space travel was gaining popularity amongst corporations and rich individuals.”

He goes on to explain what the game requires you to do exactly,

“Each ship has a generator capable of producing a fixed wattage, and everything you connect to it drains wattage. A cloaking field, for example, might require almost all the power from the generator, forcing you to turn off all computers and dim all lights in order to successfully cloak.”

The cost of this new title is undecided as of yet, but it is likely to be a monthly fee for the Multiverse but states that “Single player won’t have any recurring fees.” For anyone wishing to discover what kind of treasures await them, “Abandoned ships full of loot” is already on the list and so is “space battles against the AI or other players.” Sounding like another huge concept brought to life, in the meantime as we all wait for more information, get your space domination planning permission forms completed for 0x10c.
