Monster Hunter World’s upcoming expansion, Iceborne finally has a release date that fans of the game can look forward to. It will be a monstrous expansion that features a brand-new storyline that picks up right after where the main game ended.

It will take players to the Icy locales of Hoarfrost Reach, a snow-covered terrain that offers an ecosystem that contrasts areas in the main game and progressively expands with the story. According to the press release, Iceborne is set to offer the largest region in the game so far, presenting hunters a wealth of new content with even more quests to face than in the original release.

The expansion will offer something to the hardcore players as well, offering a brand new Master Rank difficulty quest tier that makes new and existing monsters much more fierce. Veterans of the series will also be happy to know that Nargacuga will be making a return with dangerous new skills. The monsters will be led by the gigantic elder dragon, Velkhana who will be the main antagonist of the story.

In order to play the expansion, players will have to have completed the main story at Hunter Rank 16 at least. It will be available both as a standalone purchase of £34.99, a Deluxe purchase of £41.99 and for those who have yet to jump into the world of the new game, around £49.

It will be available for the Xbox One and PS4 initially on the 6th of September, with a PC release following in the winter. Stay tuned for more updates and news about Iceborne throughout the E3 week.
