Mortal Kombat 11 Announced with Brutal Trailer, Out Early Next Year #TheGameAwards

Mortal Kombat 11 was announced at The Game Awards with a brutal cut-scene trailer that saw fan-favourites Raiden and Scorpion battle it out against one another.  The trailer found below, gave us a taste of what we know and love about the series, however, if you want to see some actual gameplay footage, then we won’t have too long to see the game in action.

Mortal Kombat 11 will make its gameplay reveal via a special Twitch livestream by NetherRealm which will take place on January 17th, 2019 at 7pm GMT/11am PST.  Not only will we see some gameplay, but we’ll also learn about modes such as tournaments and “themed activities.

Taking inspiration from Injustice 2, Mortal Kombat 11 will also feature character customisation and as with recent instalments, it will also come with a full, cinematic singleplayer campaign.  Industry legend and developer of the Mortal Kombat series, Ed Boon had this to say on the Mortal Kombat 11 customisation features “Our Custom Character Variation System opens up an infinite amount of options for players to personalize their favourite fighters. We can’t wait until January when we’ll be showing more of the game.

At launch there will be two versions of Mortal Kombat 11 available with the standard edition and Premium Edition, which has an RRP of £79.99 and comes with the Kombat Pack.  However, all pre-orders will come with Shao Kahn as playable character.

Mortal Kombat 11 will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch from April 23rd, 2019.  And for those that might be interested, the track featured in the trailer below is from Rapper, 21 Savage.
