We got a load of new gameplay footage for Hideo Kojima’s forthcoming, Death Stranding and we also got to learn a little more about the weird babies’ in the pods, as well as being introduced to some new characters.

Firstly, in the first piece of gameplay entitled “Mama”, we get introduced to the first new character, Margaret Qualley, who is tied to a place due to being a mother to her baby sprit, who is trapped it seems in our world.  It will certainly be interesting to learn more about their unusual situation.

The second piece of gameplay is called “Bridge Baby” and features the character played by Guillermo Del Toro and it is here that we learn a little more of the babies’ role in the game.  From what I can tell, the babies are taken from a womb of a mother that passed away, which they refer to as a “still mother”.  As a result and with their technology, the babies are kept alive and looked after by their guardian’s (such as the character played by Norman Reedus) and are key to survival against the eerie creatures that we’ve seen in the game so far, and they seem to harness the power of bridging between other worlds.

In the final and third piece of gameplay, we see Norman Reedus’ (Sam) character going about his daily routines, such as urinating after a sleep (Hideo Kojima has confirmed that you can’t see Reedus’s digital merchandise) and we also get introduced to the second new character played by Geoff Keighley, host of the Game Awards and good friend of Hideo Kojima.  You can watch all three gameplay videos below.

Death Stranding will release for PlayStation 4 on November 8th and then for PC at a later date.
