IO Interactive have announced a new game mode for the hotly anticipated Hitman: Absolution, entitled Contract Mode. By far this mode looks like it could utilise the gameplay mechanics of Hitman to its full potential. What makes any Hitman game so good, is the freedom that players have in order to complete an objective. With Contract Mode, players have even more incentive to get creative, if you kill an AI player with an environmental kill, then the player who chooses to play out your contract has to do the exact same kill. What’s genius about this, is that players effectively get to create their own levels without a level editor, players go around any of the single player missions and choose how they want to play that mission out and how they want to complete any of the objectives. However you do a mission, that same way of completing the mission has to be done by the player who plays your contract.

The only real downside to this though, is how long will the creativity last? Sure, there are a lot of possibilities to complete an objective, but when thousands of people are playing the same mission, surely people are going to think of the same way to do a mission.

We will have to wait and see when the game is released on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 20th.

Until then though, why don’t you have a look at some gameplay below?
