The highly anticipated Mass Effect Andromeda trailer has been released for N7 Day.  The trailer features no actually gameplay, but instead in-game (I assume) cinematic footage from the game.  We also get another look at the lead protagonist family, the Ryder siblings and the new crew.  It seems that we also get a glimpse of the new enemy.

We also learn when Mass Effect: Andromeda story begins at around the same time as Mass Effect 2’s conclusion in the year 2185 .  Then in the year 2186 is when Mass Effect 2’s Arrival DLC is set, when the Reapers invade the Milky Way.  It was expected by many that Andromeda will be a prequel to the original trilogy, but after our heroes awaken from a 600 year Cryo-Sleep, the Reaper Wars have come and gone and the year is now 2785.

If that wasn’t enough to get you excited for N7 Day, then the news of Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 joining the original game on the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility feature might just.  If you own the discs or o digital, you can play the entire trilogy on Xbox One now.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will release during Spring 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
