New Masterminds and Maps Announced for Resident Evil Resistance

Capcom has announced two new Mastermind’s and two new maps for the 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer spin-off, Resident Evil Resistance.  Joining Annette Birkin and Daniel Fabron as Masterminds, is none other than one of the infamous “Wesker Children”, Alex Wesker and one of the founders of Umbrella Corp., Ozwell E. Spencer.

Alex Wesker played a key role in Resident Evil: Revelations 2, while Ozwell E. Spencer is synonymous with the history of the Resident Evil series, pretty much from the beginning.  But now these two imposing characters will be utilising their most dastardly skills as Masterminds, to insure that the Survivors do not escape their sinister lairs!

Additionally, joining the two new Masterminds, are two new maps with the Casino and the Abandoned Park.  The Casino map, located in the deserted Raccoon City, reminds me very much of the first Resident Evil: Revelations.  While the abandoned theme park, located “on the outskirts of Raccoon City” might at least have a hint of an eerie setting.  We also have some concept art for the Yateveo, a bio-weapon mutation that will be at the disposal of the Masterminds.

While I was never a fan of Resident Evil Resistance to begin with, which never changed much after taking part in the beta (here are my impressions on the beta), since then it has been revealed that it will be a free, additional game to be included in the Resident Evil 3 remake, so it has at least earned the benefit of the doubt from me.  Previously, Capcom trolled us in believing that it would be a standalone game, which now we know, it is not.

Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Resistance will release together for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 3rd.  Are you looking forward to Resident Evil Resistance?  Let us know across our social media channels.
