We all love a bit of old-school platforming, puzzles and combat, right? If so, then you’re in luck.

Revealed by Ubisoft during Summer Game Fest, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown looks to be heavily inspired by the game that started it all way back in 1989 on the retro Apple II. According to the press release, the game is also inspired by the classic Metroid series.

Not to be confused with the trouble Sands of Time remake, developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown takes: “players will embody Sargon, a young, gifted warrior, and member of an elite group called The Immortals.

“As they are sent to rescue Prince Ghassan, they will explore Mount Qaf, a once wondrous place, now cursed and hostile. Sargon and his brothers-in-arms will soon discover that time itself will be a treacherous foe and that the world balance must be restored.”

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be released on 18 January 2024 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
