At the MAGIC 2018 event in Monaco, France over the weekend, the highly anticipated Shenmue III was in attendance and as a result, some new juicy screenshots were released.  However, we also got some leaked gameplay footage, which shows a QTE from the game.  QTE’s might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they’ve been a huge part of the gameplay mechanics within the series, so this should come as no surprise to fans.

The new screenshots not only show our protagonist Ryo, but also a “masterly-looking elderly gentleman”, a young girl and a beefed up muscle dude, most of which you might recognise from the questionable gameplay footage from Gamescom last year.  Speaking of which, an extended leaked video of that very footage has appeared on the internet, which features that QTE gameplay.  Now it’s quite clear that the leaked footage seen below is an extension from Gamescom, so the dodgy facial animations are those before they were improved upon are present (as seen here).

So before the leaked footage is removed, watch it below before it’s gone and be sure to check out the brand new screenshots.  Hopefully Shenmue III will release this year (hopefully) for PC, and PS4, and hopefully, we’ll soon get word of that rumoured remastered collection of Shenmue and Shenmue II (hopefully).
