An update is available now for World War Z, which is a part of the wave of forthcoming free content that this week, adds a new mission to the Tokyo chapter, which will see players take on the undead hordes aboard a luxury cruise ship.

The update also adds a new virulent zombie type, that spits deadly toxins and if you are drenched in it, if you’re not cleansed ASAP, then you will soon become one of the undead.  Taking this zombie down quickly is of the utmost importance, but making sure it stays down requires a little more attention.  Once downed, you must finish it off with a lethal melee attack; otherwise it will arise once more with full health.

Also with the new update, private match lobbies will be added to the game, the ability to switch classes during PvPvZ matches, as well as being able to change the field of view with sliders on PC and they’ll be bonus cosmetics too.  Developers Saber Interactive has announced that the next free update will add a new six-skull difficulty, a weekly challenge mode and a new wave-based survival mode.

If you’ve not played World War Z yet, then you’re missing out as it’s a lot of fun and you can find out why you should consider picking it up by reading our review here.
