The release date has been revealed for the quirky adventure title Between Me and the Night. The game will release from its Early Access state on the 22nd of this month for PC at a price of around £10 (£9.99 to be exact).

Described as “a surrealist action adventure game that walks the thin path between sanity and madness”, you play as a young boy exploring the strange goings on in his own house.

We previewed the game back in late September and got a brief taste of its quirky adventure gameplay. We solved light puzzles including working our way past a giant hungry cat, got sucked into an arcade machine to battle skeletons, and witnessed a television sprout legs and run away. It was certainly interesting, to say the least, and had a nice atmospheric score. However, the controls caused issues throughout and the game’s simplicity raised concerns – it wasn’t a very mechanically enjoyable offering (read the full preview for more detailed info).

However, developers RainDance LX have been receiving feedback from gamers throughout its Early Access process, and are thankful for the input, with Managing Director of Lace Games (publisher), Adam Lacey having this to say:

On behalf of the developer, RainDance LX, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Early Access community for the help, support and dedication. Without them, we would not have been able to deliver this brilliant and unique game. This is the second game we have taken through Early Access to a full release and in both cases the Early Access community has proved invaluable.

With any luck the full release will have improved on those problematic areas and we’ll have an intriguing, quirky adventure to get into.
