*Pricing Update* Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty – Pricing, Cross Buy & Release Date Update
Update: Coming from Oddworld.com, it has been revealed that Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will be getting a little price drop. Originally priced at £19.99/€24.99, European Playstation owners will now be able to download this Cross-Buy title for £17.99/€20.99. This price drop is to ensure it coincides as fairly as possible with the US price of $29.99.
It has also been revealed that Playstation Plus subscribers that purchase Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty within two weeks of its release will be rewarded with Alf’s Escape and Scrub Abe DLC free of charge.
Original Story 28/04/14: The folks at Just Add Water have given an update for their forthcoming coming title Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty which is a remake of the 1997 classic Oddworld: Abe’s Odyssey originally released on the Playstation 1. While there is no release date announcement as of yet, the developers have confirmed that they will make a release date announcement before E3 (which starts June 9th), they have also confirmed prices and platform details.
Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will release for the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita for £19.99/€24.99/$29.99 and best of all it will be a Cross Buy title, meaning that once you purchase it on one Playstation console, it will also be playable on the other Playstation formats at no extra cost. The game will also have a Cross Save feature, so for example if you started your game on the PS4, you will be able to continue your game on the go via the PS Vita. Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will also release for the PC and Wii U.

In the last few weeks we’ve evolved the way the creatures of New ‘n’ Tasty behave and interact – it’s now an altogether smarter, more exciting experience; we’ve tweaked and refined the level design to make the whole game flow better than it ever has and we’ve been pushing the cut-scenes to ensure that our rich storytelling remains very much at the forefront of it all.
We know you, our biggest fans, are eager to play the game, and we’re doubly eager to share it with you – but we just need a few more weeks to get it exactly where we want it to be. So, in terms of a release date – we’re going to be able to announce when the game will be available to buy before E3 starts on the 9th of June. The game won’t be out before E3 – sorry – but that’s our promise in terms of letting you know when it will be.
We are especially excited to confirm the price of the game – Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 for $29.99 in the US, €24.99 in Europe and – approximately – £19.99 in the UK.
We’re also delighted to reveal that the game will be Cross Buy on PlayStation platforms, meaning that if you buy New ‘n’ Tasty from the PlayStation Store on one platform, you’ll also get the other two versions included. We’re also busily implementing Cross Save, so you’ll be able to take your progress from the PS3 and PS4 versions on the road (and vice versa) if you also have a Vita!
