After having a bit of a rough time finding Kickstarter backing last year for it’s twisty 2D/3D platformer PONCHO, indie developers Delve Interactive found a white knight in the form of Rising Star Games to bring the games titular hero to the masses. Not content with sharing the little robot heroes post apocalyptic adventures with just the PC’ers, the team are happy to announce the game will also be coming to PlayStation 4, Sony’s handheld the Vita and Nintendo’s Wii U!

I got hands on at last years EGX event and was very impressed with the wonderfully realised characters and world and adored the Paper Mario-esq play style of being able to shift between three parallax planes (foreground, middle and background) to navigate the abandoned and overgrown world. I must admit I was a little bummed when all went quiet however, as always, good news comes to those who wait and I’ve very happy that Danny and the team are getting to share this fun game with the masses later this year.

PONCHO will be released early Summer 2015 on Steam (PC/Mac/Linux), PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Wii U systems. Speaking with the team at the recent EGX Rezzed event, they had hopes to bring the game to 3DS to which I think the game would work tremendously well on. Fingers crossed guys!
