Following all the rumours, Marvel vs. Capcom 4 was announced at the PlayStation Experience, well in-fact it’s going to be called Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and it will release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One late 2017 (great news that its multi-format, unlike Street Fighter V).

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite will bring the best of what the Marvel and Capcom universes has to offer and will feature both singleplayer and multiplayer modes, including Arcade, Training, Mission Modes and a “visually stunning and immersive cinematic” Story Mode.

Executive Producer at Marvel Entertainment; Mike Jones had this to say:

For the last two decades, Marvel vs. Capcom has been one of the most celebrated franchises among fans,” said Mike Jones. “To deliver on that legacy, we’ve worked closely with Capcom to create a game that honours the heritage of the series and combines Marvel’s unique brand of storytelling with Capcom’s world-class gameplay. We’re raising the bar with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and are excited for players to get their hands on it next year.

Director of Production at Capcom USA; Michael Evans added:

It was deeply inspiring for our development team to join forces again with Marvel and we can’t wait for our fans to experience the benefits of that collaboration first hand,” said Michael Evans. “With Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, our goal is to provide memorable experiences and infinite gameplay possibilities for players of all skill levels.

Capcom has stated that more information on its characters, stages, modes and features will be revealed in the coming months, so we’ll keep you updated as and when that happens.  In the meantime, you can also check out the batch of screenshots below.

However, while we have a long wait ahead until Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite hits our consoles and PC, at the PlayStation Experience, Sony announced that as of right now, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is available to download right now for PS4 via the PSN Store.  Sadly, while this re-release will be coming to other formats, PC and Xbox One gamers will have to wait until March 2017.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on the current-gen systems will feature a new gallery mode; all previously released DLC and improved visuals running at 1080p/60fps.  It will be priced at £19.99/ €24.99/$24.99.
