You may or may not have heard of Bedtime Digital Games before, as back in 2014 they released the surreal gem Back to Bed (which we reviewed here), an adventure puzzle game that administered a stylised, quirky dreamland aesthetic to create a pretty interesting, if short lived, puzzle game about a man trying to get back to bed.

Well, Bedtime Digital are continuing with the surreal theme and exploration of the human mind with their latest game Figment, though in this instance it’s not just a simple puzzle game, but an action adventure with a musical edge.

Set “in the recesses of the human mind”, Dusty and his friend Piper are on an adventure through “the mind” (it’s not clear who’s mind, exactly) on a quest to fight back the nightmares that have been appearing, and to restore the courage to this psyche.

To do that you’ll solve puzzle and fight enemies, all while enjoying “a full score of musical performances”.

The hand-drawn environments look very quirky indeed, and this musical element will be interesting to watch play out – the trailer, of which you can watch below, shows it almost like a musical, which is quite amusing.

Thankfully we won’t have to wait all that long either, as the release date for the game has been set for the 22nd of September for PC, though will be appearing later on (in winter) for Switch, Xbox One and PS4.
