Back in February this year, it was revealed by EA CEO Andrew Wilson that Electronic Arts will be releasing a brand new IP aimed for a Q1 2018 release.  There were many rumours floating around, but most suggested that it won’t be an RPG title like Mass Effect, but instead an “action-adventure” title.

Well, we have some fresh rumours to coincide with what Andrew Wilson had to say on the new IP, which is believed to codenamed Dylan and it will in-fact be an MMO game which takes inspiration from the likes of Destiny and The Division.

The new IP codenamed Dylan is said to be developed by BioWare Edmonton, which were the studio that worked on the Mass Effect trilogy and have apparently been working on this new IP for more than four years.  The details were first revealed on Liam Robertson’s podcast, a reliable industry guy, claiming that we will get its first official reveal during E3 this coming June.

On his Patreon-exclusive podcast and as reported by ibtimes.co.uk; Robertson claimed that “Dylan is (the codename for the IP), from what I understand, a sci-fi themed game, it is sort of Destiny-style, takes some elements from The Division, it has like MMO elements. Someone described it as a ‘semi-MMO’,” said Robertson.  He then went on to say “I don’t know much more than that… it is a huge scale project, perhaps the biggest BioWare has ever done. It’s bigger than Mass Effect Andromeda, considerably so. It will have co-op.

Make of that what you will, but it certainly sounds like an interesting concept, assuming BioWare get this one right and release it when the game is good and ready, especially with it potentially being an MMO.  When we hear more news (hopefully before E3), we’ll keep you posted as always.

Just today, Liam Robertson also claimed on his podcast that a new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is in the works, you can read-up on more details here.
