According to reports from GamesBeat, they claim to have sources “familiar” with the next Battlefield set to release this year and state that it will be set in World War 2 and will be called Battlefield V.  I assume the V stands for the number 5, but seeing as the last Battlefield was Battlefield 1, but the release before that was Battlefield 4, it’s anyone’s guess.  But let’s not dwell on EA’s confusing numbering system.  The V could of course stand for Victory, which will fall in-line with the famous Winston Churchill image.

However, the sources also claim that the 2018 Battlefield was originally set to be called Battlefield 2 (but we now understand that this was a temporary title), which would make more sense considering the last release, but hey, if the rumours are true and the image seen below is genuine, this year’s instalment will be called Battlefield V.  If these claims do prove to be true, I’m still hoping that we’ll get a Bad Company 3 in 2019.
