Resident Evil Revelations was originally an exclusive title for Nintendos 3DS, which was released roughly a year ago. But this week marks the release of the HD port of Revelations heading towards Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U and Windows PC! Of course the title is getting a lovely HD make over to support the increase of hardware from hand held to console versions. Plus Revelations will be getting it’s own set of achievements / trophies (Xbox/PS3) to go along with it.

Revelations is set between the events that took place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 and dives into the mystery of the T-Abyss virus. Revelations is the most recent Resident Evil title that will take you back to it’s roots of survival horror. To prove that even more, the 2 playable characters in Revelations are the one and only Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield (Stars (teehee) of Resident Evil 1). Although they aren’t together during the game, each character has their own partner throughout the campaign. The adventure starts aboard a very ominous and supposedly abandoned cruise ship, the Queen Zenobia. You will soon find out that the Queen isn’t as abandoned as she should be….

A first for Revelations is the eventual release of DLC. Weapon upgrades for each of the characters will be available to purchase in two different packs. The ‘Resistance Set’ and the ‘Enhancement Set’. Each pack will contain six upgrades which will cost 160msp or $1.99 /£1.99 from June 4th. Shortly afterwards on June 11th, we will be treated to two additional characters for players to use in the games RAID mode. ‘Rachael Ooze’ – An infected mutation of a mysterious (and highly attractive) blonde and a female version of the highly popular and series classic Hunk. Currently only known as ‘Lady Hunk;. Each character will be available or 240msp or $2.99 / £2.99. And finaly, weapon upgrades for Jill, Parker and Jessica will be available from June 18th for 80msp or $0.99 / £0.99 each. Hopefully that won’t be the end of the DLC, but I would prefer some meater DLC instead of weapon upgrades and characters.

That’s not all the differences that the console version of Revelations will have though. There will be a new enemy called ‘The Wall Blister’, a brand new difficulty called ‘Infernal Mode’ which will change the locations of items and enemies to keep the veterans of the 3DS version on their toes. So it should hopefully be like playing the game for the first time all over again! Finally they have made some improvements to the Raid mode which will have new weapons, skill sets and new characters to play as! (Hunk and the mysterious (But highly attractive) blonde Rachael in human form.) Raid mode is available in co-op or single player and gives you a variety of missions to complete which will level up your characters and earn you weapon upgrades.
