Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics has officially announced that the timed Xbox exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider releases this month for Windows 10 and Steam on the 28th.  While the game will be essentially the same as the Xbox version, in particular the Xbox One, the PC version will have some added features that its console counterpart will not.  For example, it will support 4K resolution and the Nixxes Software will enhance its visual splendour.

While it will be recommended to run Rise of the Tomb Raider on Windows 10, according to its minimum requirements, the game will also be capable of running on Windows 7.  The minimum requirements can be seen below:

  • OS: Windows 7 64bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 25 GB available space

At the moment, Rise of the Tomb Raider has an RRP of £39.99/€49.99 for the base game, with the Digital Deluxe which includes the season pass is priced £59.99/€77.99.

If that wasn’t enough good news for you, the Collector’s Edition which includes the Digital Deluxe game, a 12” Lara Croft Statue, Lara’s Journal and Jade Necklace and a steelbook case has been announced.  The Collector’s Edition will be available via the Square Enix e-store for £109.99/€129.99.  Hopefully we’ll get a PlayStation 4 release date announcement for Rise of the Tomb Raider in the coming months.
