Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 For PC Will Be “Different” From iOS Version
Earlier this month Atari revealed the fourth entry in the Rollercoaster Tycoon series for iPhone and iPad which would offer in-app purchases similar to many other mobile games, most notably the recently-released and critically panned Dungeon Keeper reboot. This announcement received a pretty negative reception from fans of the Rollercoaster Tycoon series who don’t want to see their beloved franchise get the same treatment as Dungeon Keeper and are instead desperate for a fully fledged sequel for PC or home console.
Well fear not because Atari has now assured concerned fans that there will be a dedicated PC version of Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 and that it will be a “completely different game” than it’s touchscreen namesake.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Atari’s Anthony Chien, senior director of marketing, addressed the fans concerns;
There’s a lot of diehard RC fans that want a PC experience, they want all different sorts of things. It’s trying to deliver as much as we can. First is the mobile version, then it’s the PC experience.
I think a lot of people are vocal about wanting to see the PC version first before the mobile, but our strategy is mobile first.
The mobile version of Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 is expected in the spring for iPhone and iPad. Atari has yet to announce a release date for the PC version. In the mean time check out the announcement trailer for the Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 mobile below.
