It’s been heavily rumoured that developers of the Batman Arkham series have been working on a new DC game and when a job listing appeared on the Rocksteady website to work on a next-gen title, a huge part of those rumours were confirmed.  At the very least, we knew for sure that they are working on a new game, but we don’t know exactly what it will be.  Back in May this year, rumours suggested that they could even be working on a Superman title.

However, fresh rumours that have appeared on the 4Chan forum and then Reddit indicating that the next game might in-fact be a Justice League title set within the Batman Arkham universe and it is believed that it might be called Justice League: Crisis.

Releasing on PC, PS5 and the next Xbox in 2020, Justice League: Crisis will be both a singleplayer and co-op game, I’m hoping that this will refer to a full campaign, as it is believed that the game with have another multiplayer component aside from the story.  In the story campaign, it is said that you can switch freely between characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Aquaman.  Though I’m not sure how that would work, so I would guess that there will only be some sections that can be performed by a particular character, such as Aquaman in the sea, rather than Batman participating in a spot of scuba diving (although he could, if he wanted too).

The rumours also say that there will be a number of cities to explore, other than Gotham, including Metropolis, Keystone, Star City and more, I would assume Atlanta might be thrown in there too in some aspect.  The main villain is also said to be Starro, which would be interesting, as this old-school villain was the first foe to face the original Justice League of America.  To add further fuel to these rumours, Warner Bros. has claimed the domain name justiceleaguecrisis.com, which oddly takes you to the WB Shop at this time.  But that domain claim could refer to any number of future projects or animation series’.

As always, these kinds of rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt, especially as Rocksteady Studios are seemingly being linked to a new DC game every other month.  But as soon as we hear of any new developments, we’ll update you right away.
