See the first gameplay of Micro Machines World Series and it looks good!

Back in January it was announced that finally, the old school top-down multiplayer racing classic that is Micro Machines will be making its triumphant comeback.  Sadly, even though a trailer was released, it showed no actual gameplay and then a month later, a batch of screenshots were released, but again, even they weren’t gameplay.  But thankfully Codemasters has now released an actual gameplay video showcasing its multiplayer mayhem narrated by the one and only Brian Blessed, along with a batch of new screenshots.

As it was back in the 90’s, Micro Machines World Series main focus will be on the multiplayer fun that appeals to appeal to gamers of all ages, Executive Producer of the game, Chris Gray said “Micro Machines World Series is a fresh new take on the franchise that is great fun for previous players and those new to Micro Machines. It’s a firm fan favourite and we are delighted to be bringing it to the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Gray added “In addition to the return of the classic Race and Elimination modes, we are extremely excited by the new Battle Arenas. Having 12 players in the same match, all fighting it out with a variety of vehicles and crazy weapons is great fun. Gamers are going to love it.

Micro Machines World Series will be playable via 4-player local co-op or you can take it online with up to 12 players, across a variety of 15 race tracks (one track even includes Hungry Hippos), 12 vehicles (from a Spy Car, Hover Craft, Monster Truck, G.I Joe H.I.S.S Tank) and modes.  One of those modes includes the Battle Mode, which provides the series own spin on the Capture the Flag formula, as well as a 6v6 Team Deathmatch mode.

Each vehicle will have their own powers, weapons and you can even customise the look of your favourite vehicles with a choice of skins.  And if you want to rub your victory in friends faces (which might result in controller throwing), you can celebrate furthermore with Emotes, Victory Poses and Grave Stamps.

Micro Machines World Series will release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 23rd.
