See the Gears of War 4 launch trailer 3 weeks early as game goes Gold

Microsoft Studios and The Coalition have released the Gears of War 4 launch trailer three weeks before its actual release, which kind of misses the point of being a “launch” trailer.  I suppose that likely means that we’ll get one or two more trailers before the game actually releases next month.

 

However, the trailer does have an awesome touch, as it is narrated by John Di Maggio, who is of course the voice of Marcus Fenix.  Gears of War 4 is set 25 years after Marcus and Delta Squad fought off the Locus invasion on Sera, but now teamed with his son JD, Del and Kait, a new threat known as the Swarm has emerged.

 

Microsoft and The Coalition have also confirmed that Gears of War 4 has gone Gold, which means it’s finished its main stage of development and is now ready to ship to retail.  A new batch of screenshots has also been released, which I’ve purposely left one out as it ruined a surprise for me. Gears of War 4 will release for Windows 10 and Xbox One on October 11^th.
