Sid Meier’s Civilization V Free to Play This Weekend

Today 2K Games and Firaxis Games announced that Sid Meier’s Civilization V will be free to play on Steam from today until Sunday, May 27th 1:00pm PDT (8:00pm GMT). This is to celebrate the upcoming expansion pack Gods and Kings which is being released on June 19th in North America and then June 22nd in Europe. This expansion will see the return of religion and will also see more leaders, units and technologies. To further celebrate this expansion pack, Steam are also doing a 75% discount on Civilization V and all DLC.

For all players who check out the game this weekend for free and decide that they like it, you will be able to carry over all your progress if you buy the game before Monday, May 28th 10am PDT (5:00pm GMT).
