The upcoming survival horror game from the legendary Frictional Games, creator of games like Amnesia and Penumbra, have released a new in-game trailer for their upcoming game SOMA, which seems to touch on the setting for our game, as to what might have happened.

From what I understand so far, some scientists have been working on a groundbreaking project for a while, and have reached a point where it shows a lot of potential. However, the people mostly associated with this project have a bad habit of killing themselves. Furthermore, according to the website,

“The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. As isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening.

Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare.

The only way out is to do something unimaginable.”

The game is planned for a 2015 launch on PC and PS4, and looks to be pretty scary thus far. In fact, if you haven’t already, check out some gameplay yourselves below!
