The space simulation/adventure game Jameson The Pilot was announced recently at Pax Prime by publisher 11 bit Launchpad. Developed by the one-man developer Rezoner, Jameson The Pilot offers a pixel-art “endless space” to explore.

Both a press release and the game’s website suggest that the game will be littered with activities, but no compulsory tether, thus allowing you to freely explore and discover what the universe has to offer – you can be an explorer, a miner, a trader, a pirate, and apparently even a ‘space bus driver’. Also touted, are customisable ships, guilds, and quests.

The game also looks to be taking a more humorous angle, as it forgoes the usual ‘save the galaxy quests’ in exchange for “a lot of humour, pop culture references, and cheesy jokes.

The trailer above gives a brief example of the game – expressing that ‘cheesy humour’ too – although it’s not a lot to go on to get a significant impression of the game.

That’s it for the information on Jameson The Pilot, although more is due to be revealed soon as the game comes to Steam Early Access in Autumn. The game will also be released for mobile devices.
