Despite being one of the most beloved franchises on the planet, it’s not always a sure-fire guarantee that Stars Wars will bring success.

In recent years some of the movies and TV series have been a mixed bag of tricks. Years ago, it was also hit and miss with video game releases, but much like the original Star Wars trilogy, we have had some classic video game entries. The most recent of which is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts.

In June 2023, Ubisoft announced Star Wars Outlaws to be developed by Massive Entertainment and it’s fair to say that this open-galaxy single-player adventure looks to follow on from the success of the Star Wars Jedi series.

At the time of its announcement, we knew that Star Wars Outlaws was to be released in 2024, but we didn’t know exactly when. However, according to a recent Disney Parks blog post, Star Wars Outcasts looks set to be released late this year, so perhaps around November time would be my guess.

Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world Star Wars game, is set to release late this year,” reads the blog post. “The game lets you explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. You can risk it all as Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. If you’re willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.”

Star Wars Outlaws will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
