If you aren’t familiar, the original X: Beyond the Frontier was developed by a German company called Egosoft, and was released for Windows in 1999. It is a space based combat and trading simulation set in the X universe. I’ll link to it here so that you can read more. It’s a big universe with adoring fans. Until today I had never heard of it, but I will be checking it out.
