What’s that you say? The 2014 movie is getting made into a video game? That’s right it is, but not the kind of game we were expecting. Super action film John Wick staring Keanu Reeves is making his way to his own virtual reality first-person shooter due for release in spring 2016.

Starbreeze, who also co-developed the excellent heist simulator Payday games, are turning publisher and partnering with movie studio Lionsgate Films to make the experience. Development is being taken out by VR studio Grab and Wevr – who have worked on HTC Vive’s  Blu: Encounter tech demo. Demo versions of the John Wick VR game will be available to try later this year via SteamVR before getting a full release early in the new year.

It’s unclear if John Wick himself will be modeled after Keanu Reeves’ character in the movies or they will be taking  a different approach but it’s interesting non the less. For those that have seen the movie a sequel is in the making and those that haven’t, watch the scene above. It’s one of the best action scenes I have ever seen.
