The much acclaimed visual novel Steins;Gate, released originally in 2009, which spawned a hit anime in 2011 has now made its way to Steam for PC.

A visual novel with minor interaction (yet multiple endings), the game follows the story of Okabe – a self-proclaimed mad scientist – and his friends as they find themselves caught up in a time travel conspiracy.

Hilarity, melancholy and drama all ensue as the story unfolds and you get to know the slew of detailed characters.

Praised for its great characters, writing and art, a Steam version is an exciting prospect for fans like myself.

The game features around 30 (or more) hours of reading, as well as voice acting, and interactions that can affect the game’s ending.

For those who have already experienced one form of Steins;Gate, I’m sure you can attest to its charm, so for those who haven’t yet, this could be a good time to try it out.

One thing that may cause concern however, is the price point. It’s not a cheap game (over £25 excluding the sale that’s currently on) – especially considering it’s a release of an older title.

We are currently in the process of reviewing the game, so keep an eye out for that here in the not too distant future.
