Capcom have announced that Street Fighter V will feature story elements.  Street Fighter V which is due to release February 16th, all players will have the opportunity to play through individual character stories that provide important and relevant background information on each of the characters, and how and why they are involved with the game, their relationships with other fighters will also be shown.  Street Fighter V will also feature all character stories in the classic/throwback art style created by Bengus, a famous Japanese illustrator who has worked on a variety of past Street Fighter projects.

It’s great to see Capcom focusing on character development with the franchise as it’s something that has been lacklustre.  Street Fighter V will offer cinematic story which will expand the Street Fighter universe and slots between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III.  This is the first and hopefully not the last time that fans will get to experience a cinematic story in the long running series.

For those looking to go the extra mile in Street Fighter V, Fight Money aka Zenny will be earned during play. This will give players the opportunity to purchase a new character, and possibly more unlockables depending on their skill level.  The title will be launching with a post content drops that will be coming in March, giving players more than enough time to accumulate Fight Money through the various singleplayer modes prior to the in-game store opening. When the game launches there will be no downloadable content to purchase using the earn-able Fight Money(Zenny) or real currency.. The first post launch content for Street Fighter V will be released in March.

Additionally, Capcom confirmed today that a fourth and final Street Fighter V beta will run from January 30th-31st. Also, as a bonus to all fans and supporters, check out the beautiful art from Bengus below and some new in-game screens, along with the expansion trailer at the top of this article.
