Super Monkey Ball, the Monkey in a Ball Simulator Looks to be Coming Back!

It’s been many years since we’ve last seen Super Monkey Ball, a physics, momentum, platform puzzler that has navigating a ball with a monkey insider through challenging courses.  The concept sounds about as wacky as the game itself, and boy was it fun, especially when playing multiplayer locally with friends.

My personal favourites in the series has to be the original two games that released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2001 and 2002 respectively.  However, the last appearance of the Super Monkey Ball series was a mobile game in 2014 and a release on the PS Vita in 2012 before that.  So to say the beloved series is due a big release is a little bit of an understatement.

Thankfully, that release might not be too far away, because very recently, Super Monkey Ball has been rated on a Taiwanese Games Ratings board and when this kind of thing happens, it usually means that an announcement is inbound.  Then you take the added fact that Sega also trademarked Super Monkey Ball in Japan, earlier in the year, shows that there is most certainly smoke with the fire.

At the moment, I can only see the PlayStation 4 as the registered platform, but it’s very likely that the new Super Monkey Ball will be multiplatform and for me personally, I have to own the monkey in a ball simulator on my Nintendo Switch.
