SWTOR 2.2: Operation Nightmare!

Today on Star Wars: The Old Republic’s (SWTOR) website, Amber Green posted the news announcement that Operation Nightmare will come out between 2AM-3AM PDT when the servers go down for their normal maintenance time. This is part one of the 2-part content package that will add perks to being in a guild as well as appeal to hard core raiders in the game.

Patch 2.2 is entitled Operation Nightmare for its appeal to hard core raiders on SWTOR. Part 1 will add a Nightmare mode to Terror from Beyond, the introductory level operation to level 55 players. It will also add Kel Dragon Gear as the highest tier players can earn through going up the operations’ ladder. Furthermore, players will be able to craft Underworld gear.

This patch will also expand on the guild rewards system introduced in 2.0 Rise of the Hutt Cartel (ROTHC). In ROTHC being in a guild gave all the players a 5% experience (exp) bonus to all their characters in the guild. This exp bonus is applied to subscribers, free-to-play players, and preferred players. Now, the bonus will increase by +1% exp and +1% reputation bonus with every 5 subscribed or preferred players the guild adds. This bonus will cap at of 10% bonus exp.

Patch 2.2.2 is the second half of the patch. This will make operation Scum and Villainy (S&V) even more of a hurdle for players to conquer, as it will add a Nightmare ModeS&V was the latest operation to enter SWTOR as part of the game’s first expansion ROTHC. The expansion added a new planet, Makeb, as well as numerous story lines. Its revamping of the game  increased the level cap to 55, brought new tiers of gear to the game, as well as re-balanced classes. Currently, people can purchase it from the SWTOR website for $9.99 for subscribers and $19.99USD for free-to-play players.
