Nightdive Studios, the developers behind this Kickstarter funded remake of horror FPS classic System Shock, have revealed that their game has now moved to the Unreal Engine 4 after deciding Unity was not the best fit for the game.

A trailer has been created and a few screenshots shared to show off this development, both of which you can view below. It’s a little difficult to appreciate in such an early state, however the media both show some signs of promise – from the clean visuals, to the atmospheric setting, and some cool combat towards the end of the trailer (which shows our character freezing two enemies and then pinging off parts of their bodies).

A demo was released in July of last year which we covered here on PushStart. It set a good impression of the game, seeming both modernised and updated, as well as faithful to the original. If any game needed a reboot, it’s the original System Shock, so this is obviously a very exciting thing.

Take a look at the trailer and screenshots below, and we’ll keep you updated on more System Shock info as it comes.
