You very well may be aware that there’s a writers strike going on right now within the videogame industry and while I won’t get into the politics of all that, as a result of the strike of interesting list of games have released that potentially reveals some unannounced games.

Back in April 2015 it was announced that Telltale Games would be teaming up with Marvel to bring us a videogame based within the Marvel Universe, however, we’ve not known as to what franchise the game will be based upon.  But thanks to this list of games affected by the writers’ strike, it looks that the Telltale/Marvel game will in-fact be Guardians of the Galaxy.  When you put two and two together with the added fact the Marvel game from Telltale and the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 movie is releasing in 2017, it all makes perfect sense.

To add further fuel to the speculative fire, the company listed to be associated with the Guardians of the Galaxy videogame is “O” Farrell Enterprises, the team that just so happens to be developing the third season of Telltales The Walking Dead (which also looks to be affected by the strike).

Additionally, among the many games listed, is potentially the name of 2017’s Call of Duty title.  The title in question is Call of Duty: Stronghold & Lethal Combat.  Now this could very well be a codename at this stage or it could be one or two games.  Stronghold being one and Lethal Combat being the other.

At this stage we simply do not know for sure.  However, if recent rumours are to be believed, the next Call of Duty title will be set in the past, many expecting it to be World War themed once more or even Vietnam.  The later in particular could be closer to the truth, because anyone familiar with the history of the Vietnam War, might know of the meaning of the word “Stronghold”.  The “Iron Triangle” was a ‘stronghold’ of the Vietcong located in Binh Dương Province of Vietnam.

This of course could be pure hearsay, but it could be more than just a coincidence.  Knowing Activision, we probably won’t find out anything official until around March/April time of 2017 when they usually announce the next Call of Duty title to be developed by Sledgehammer Games.  You can check out the list of games currently affected by the writers’ strike here.
