Telltales The Walking Dead brings in Star Wars writer for final season

Telltale Games has announced that they are to bring in co-writer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to work on the fourth and final season of their The Walking Dead adaptation, which will premiere in 2018.

Gary Whitta, who not only worked on Rogue One, but also The Book of Eli, will be joining the Telltale team once more as a Story Consultant to work with the team of writers, after previously being involved in the very first season of The Walking Dead.

“Collaborating with Telltale on the first season of Clementine’s journey through the world of The Walking Dead was one of the highlights of my career, so reuniting with them to now bring her story to a close with this final season feels like a homecoming,” said Whitta. “Clementine has become not just one of the most compelling characters in the Walking Dead pantheon but one of the great video game characters of all time. I hope we’re able to do justice to her and to her millions of fans. This one feels special.”

In addition to this announcement, it was also revealed that The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series, will also be getting a retail release collection, featuring seasons one to three, as well as the mini-series’ 400 Days and MichonneThe Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection will be available on December 5th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at retail, as well as via digital on the very same day.  The seasons included in the collection (which oddly doesn’t give you access to the forthcoming last season, even though it’s labelled as a “collection”) also comes with some graphical improvements, which are showcased in the trailer and images featured in this article.

We all knew that this fantastic season will eventually end one day, but with one that gets you so emotionally attached, hopefully Telltale Games will give the series and our Clementine the closure and justice they deserve, it’s going to be emotional either way, that’s for sure.
