This week coming courtesy of a leak at a French retailer, there was unofficial confirmation that a Titanfall open beta is inbound, the just a day or so later, this open beta was then officially confirmed on the official Titanfall Facebook page.  If the rumour source was to be true, then the beta will be open between February 14th to February 19th.

Judging by what was said on the official Titanfall Facebook page; they indicated that the open beta would be coming to the PC and Xbox One, but seemingly not for the Xbox 360.  This is what they said “We’re excited to announce Titanfall will offer a PC and Xbox One Beta. Details coming soon. ‪#‎Titanfall.

So moving on from that news, we have some new information for Titanfall which includes that’s developing the Xbox 360 version, future DLC already in the works and a snazzy new limited edition art book being announced.  Firstly I’ll start off with who’s developing the Xbox 360 version.

Most of us that have been keeping tabs on Titanfalls development, will know that a new studio called Respawn Entertainment will be developing the PC and Xbox One versions of the game, which is headed by the folks that created the original Call of Duty games under Infinity Ward, namely Jason West and Vince Zampella.  But oddly enough, we have been kept in the dark to whom will be developing the Xbox 360 version, which was until now.

The company developing the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall will be Bluepoint Games.  While this may be the first time they have worked on a game in this particular genre and to such a scale, they do have a good résumé working on such titles as the critically acclaimed PSN title Flower, as well as HD collections that include God of War, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus and the Metal Gear Solid Collection.  They also worked on the more forgettable Super Smash Bros. clone, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Bluepoint Games was confirmed as the Xbox 360 developers via the Twitter account of Vince Zampella, as found below:

Next up we have some news in regards to the future plans of Titanfall DLC, which should come as no surprise in this day and age.  EA commander and chief, Andrew Wilson said this during an investor call “We’re planning extra content already for the product” he then went on to say “but in the nature of the live service, I think that that will evolve over time as we see how the player base evolves through the year.”  There were no details revealed however in regards to what this DLC might be or when it will be released, but I’m sure we will know more as the Titanfall release date fast approaches.

Lastly, being confirmed via Titanbooks.com, a limited edition Titanfall art book was revealed.  The limited edition art book will have a stylish gloss art UV varnished cover and slip case, will include 17 exclusive art prints signed by members of the Respawn team and will be limited to just 500 copies.  So unlike most so called “limited editions”, stock of this item will be very limited indeed.  It’s certainly an item for the most avid of collectors, but does carry a price point of £50.

Titanfall will release for the PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on March 11th in North America, the 13th in the EU and then the 14th in the UK.
