Trials, the platforming motorbike hit will be making its way back to the PC next year as Ubisoft has announced that the popular Xbox live arcade title Trials Evolution will be getting a gold edition release for Windows.

The new gold edition of Trials Evolution has apparently been optimized for the PC. It includes all of the key features of the Xbox 360 edition such as the Track Editor and Multiplayer, as well as featuring the first Trials HD title too.

By the time the gold edition gets released it will have been five years since the last Trials game hit the platform, both Evolution and HD have had high critical praise and I am certainly happy that the PC gaming library seems to have been growing at a rapid rate these last few years.

When it comes to DRM, it’s hard to tell at this time. The game was published by Microsoft on the Xbox 360 but soon after that Ubisoft bought the developers of Trials (Redlynx) and I personally think that with the addition of the new Steamworks Community, Trials would make a perfect fit but it will most likely be running with Uplay. Thankfully Ubisoft recently had a change of heart about their always-on DRM so this shouldn’t be anything to worry about with the upcoming “re-release” of Uplay that will no longer require you to have a constant internet connection to play.

Trials Evolution: Gold Edition has no set date but it shall be hitting digital download markets sometime in 2013.
