Some may have noticed that for the past few weeks War of the Roses has plagued the Steam homepage like an overdue history paper at the beginning of term. Set in 15th century England it is your task to slash, smash and otherwise dismember your knighted foe until one of you is crowned victor and dubbed Sir Teabag of Rochester. Well now the Steam homepage can go back to its constant updates of Hitman Absolution being 10% off for another six months because War of the Roses has finally hit the internet’s shelves at 5:00PM on Tuesday the 2nd of October.

War of the Roses is somewhat a sequel to the Mount & Blade series; a single player campaign driven game set in the same era that see’s you rise from rags to riches in as much of a cutthroat manner as you desire – it’s best to imagine Game of Thrones and you’ll pretty much get the idea of what you can do within the Mount and Blade series. This addition however focuses on the multiplayer aspect setting you sword against sword, arrow against arrow, decapitation against decapitation. At the risk of being incredibly uncreative, it’s CoD with swords.

The game retails for £25, with 20% off if you own any other Mount & Blade title, or you can get four copies to share between your medieval mates for £75. This means that if you, or any of your buddies own Mount & Blade, and club together for the four pack, it can get all four of you a copy for just £15 each. Look out for an upcoming review of the game here at Push-Start for an in-depth look into War of the Roses.
