Watch Dogs 2 was officially revealed to the world and after much speculation and published rumour articles, we can confirm that the game will star a new protagonist, called Marcus Holloway and it will be set in “Frisco”, otherwise known as the home of the Golden Gate Bridge; San Francisco.  And it has been confirmed that Watch Dogs 2 will release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 15th.

It’s been two years since the release of the original game and hopefully the developers will live on their promise by improving on the original (and hopefully they won’t do the Ubisoft thing and downgrade the visuals come release).  This time other than being a hacker outside of DedSec, you will now be a part of their team as you aim to take-down the advanced operating system known as ctOS 2.0, which has now been adopting in the city of San Francisco.  In the new open-world location, the developers say that every car and citizen can be exposed to being hacked and you can manipulate a large variety of electrical devices from cranes, drones, security robots and much more.

In terms of story, Marcus is motivated from being accused of a crime that he did not commit and he aims to bring down ctOS 2.0 and other then being a hacking marvel, he also has brutal combat and swift parkour skills.  Judging from the gameplay videos, the parkour element seems to have improved upon what we saw in Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate.  It is also possible to playthrough the entire campaign without making a single kill, though you can of course have the option to slay whoever lays in your path.

During the premiere video, they also gave us a hint of the gameplay multiplayer component, which seems to have moved away from what featured in the previous game which involved invading players.  This time it seems to be more co-op focused, though you can always choose to play the game on your own if you choose.  So it’s nice to have that option.

The senior producer of Watch Dogs 2 had this to say on the forthcoming title:

Our creative team is working hard to deliver an outstanding WATCH_DOGS experience,” said Dominic Guay, senior producer, Ubisoft Montreal. “In WATCH_DOGS 2, we’re excited to give players a captivating storyline with engaging characters that offers deeper, more meaningful hacking options, a greater variety of gadgets and weapons, and a brand new seamless multiplayer experience that will appeal to fans of the original WATCH_DOGS as well as players new to the brand.
