When a fan took to Twitter to ask the Watch_Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin if he had any idea of how long it would take to finish the Watch_Dogs main campaign, Morin stated that it would take the average gamer around 35-40 hours to finish.  He also revealed that when you consider side-quests and hidden items, you could be looking at much closer to 100 hours playtime and that’s not even taking into account the online modes.

This is not the first time that Jonathon Morin has been very open to fans queries on Twitter; just over a week ago he revealed that Watch_Dogs will feature an 8 player free-roam online mode.

In Watch_Dogs related news, it has been revealed that during the games delayed time, new content has been added that has resulted in an R18+ rating by the Australian Classification Board, Watch_Dogs previously held a rating of MA15+.  This would indicate that more than just “extra polish” has been added to the game, which was Ubisoft’s reason for the delay. Though I’m certainly not complaining and let’s hope the time has been spent well by the developers at Ubisoft.

But the reason that Australia has given Watch_Dogs the new R18+ rating, is because the game not only features violence (as we already knew), but also “references to sexual violence”.  Unsurprisingly the news of this was brought to our attention by Kotaku.  It is believed that some of the new scenes deal with the touchy subject of human trafficking and features a Romanian immigrant being assaulted and taken away to a closed room.

In regards to the new classification rating, Ubisoft released the following statement:

The entire development team has been working hard to polish and fine tune Watch Dogs in order to deliver a truly memorable open world game. In parallel, the extra time also allowed the team to include a bit of additional content.

“As per Australian classification guidelines, Ubisoft resubmitted the updated version with the added content to the Australian Classification Board (ACB). The decision to amend the rating of the game from MA15+ to R18+ was made by the ACB.

Watch_Dogs will release for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on May 27th, with a Wii U version to follow at a later date.
