“We are your enemy” new Call of Duty teaser infiltrates Black Ops 3, trailer out tomorrow?

Last week Call of Duty largely took up most of the gaming news with the Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered leaks and this week looks to be no exception.  However, this week’s news is official and has come via a tease that has infiltrated the Nuketown multiplayer map in Black Ops 3.

At the very end of the Nuketown match following the Winners Circle, there appears to be an Easter egg with a spaceship coming out from the sky which then unleashes some kind of sonic blast.  During the short segment when the spaceship appears, an image of a skull that resembles the Call of Duty: Ghosts logo flashes on the screen with the words “Nuketown Offline”.

During the match on Nuketown, you’ll also see a video running on big screens of what could very well be the villain of Infinite Warfare, with some sort of propaganda speech indicating that our end is coming and the most memorable quotes are “Know your enemy” and “We are your enemy

For your benefit, I’ve captured some footage from a game that I played on the map, I’ve edited it so that you can hear the speech being played during the match, followed by the Winners Circle segment.

A short trailer has also been released that features the same hate speech that featured in the Nuketown map, which you can watch below.  Also, below is what’s said by the character featured in the trailer, who is said to be the leader of a group called Settlement Defence Front:

Make no mistake, we will rip you from the history books. Every last trace of you, gone. You will know loss. We will be the architects of your pain. We will build monuments to your destruction. The whole world will bear witness to this: our ascension. We will blot out the skies, we will bury you in darkness. Know this, and know us. We are your enemy. We are the Settlement Defence Front.

I have to say that initially I was very sceptical in regards to the potential space/sci-fi theme, but Activision has done a great job in getting me extra pumped with this clever marketing.  If you take these words in particular from our suspected villain “Make no mistake, we will rip you from the history books. Every last trace of you, gone. You will know loss.”, I have a suspicion that the sci-fi setting could very well have time travel involved, otherwise how would we be erased from the history books?

If the time travel does feature, could Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare see us return to the most iconic moments of the Modern Warfare series to change or defend the history books?  Perhaps even we’ll get a chance once more to revisit the Soap MacTavish and Captain Price bromance?  With the official announcement expect to arrive this week, I can’t wait to find out (more on that below).

However, there is a fun little Messenger game happening right now over at CODMessenger, where you must decipher codes to reveal a secret. Thankfully we can reveal that the secret is an incoming trailer releasing tomorrow (May 2nd) at 16:00 GMT, so hopefully all will be revealed.
