If a rumour reported on VG24/7 is to believed, 2K Czech has a very bright future ahead of them. After releasing Mafia II in 2010, the studio went quiet, though there was talk of a possible Mafia III in the works.

The rumour discusses their involvement in GTA V, working on aspects of the cinematics and gameplay animations. This isn’t the only news however, as apparently Rockstar are sharing their development tools and secrets back to the 2K studio.

GTA V was recently officially announced via a trailer which really impressed gamers with the leap in graphics and overall production quality, hopefully we’ll be hearing more soon.

VGA24/7 also noted that apparently 2K Games were invited to the ‘Durango’ developer meeting in London, where Microsoft’s new system was rumoured to have been discussed.

If anything, this is great news. I really enjoyed Mafia II, and while it clearly had its shortcomings with the open world, the cinematics, core gameplay and story were second to none. I can’t wait to see more
