WWE Network Announced, Coming To Playstation & Xbox Devices

Earlier in the week WWE fans may have been aware of a big announcement to be made by the company this Wednesday (yesterday), well of course that big announcement has been made in the name of the WWE Network.

The WWE Network is a 24/7 streaming service that will provide you with hours upon hours of archived WWE footage (including WCW & ECW), live weekly shows such as Raw and Smackdown, and all 12 PPV’s throughout the 12 months.  The PPV’s will include the likes of the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Survivor Series and more, the weekly TV shows will also be available on demand after the live showings.

Of course this streaming service will come at a cost, which is $9.99 in the U.S, with pricing for other regions TBC.  The $9.99 price point (presumably around £10-£15 in the UK) offers great value when you consider it costs £15 to watch one PPV alone in the UK and on top of that you have all the live weekly shows and a seemingly endless range of achieved footage.

I imagine the app will work similar to that of NowTV, Netflix and LoveFilm.  You will be able to stream the WWE Network from your PC, tablets, smartphones, as well as the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 at launch, with the Xbox One app expected for release this summer.

The WWE Network will launch in the US on February 24th, though other regions will have to wait with scheduling “to launch in the United Kingdom, Canada Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Nordics by the end of 2014 / early 2015.”  But I’m wondering if you can access the app by creating a US account on your PS3?  That may well be worth investigating.
