Sony Computer Entertainment, as in the whole universal group, has a lot to look over. From SCEA, SCEE, and SCEJ (America, Europe and Japan respectively) to all their sub-divisions, to separate console and handheld departments etc. It’s a lot of power for one man to have, and until 25th June 2012 that man was SCE Chairman Kaz Hirai.

Hirai has now resigned from the position of chairman, but has been confirmed to remain a part-time member of the board, and will also remain as President and CEO of the entire Sony Corporation, the company that SCE is a division of, so I guess he’s still pretty much in charge in the big picture. With so many umbrella companies and sub-divisions and separate chairs with multiple committees, business news can get complicated fast, but we can take heart in the fact that despite his stepping down as SCE chairman, we will continue to see Hirai around for a while to come.

Also his parody twitter account won’t have to change its name just yet (just his twitter handle)…
