Speaking to IGN at last night’s BAFTA’s Neil Druckmann said that while a sequel is not confirmed, the Naughty Dog studio are “brainstorming” ideas for a possible sequel or perhaps prequel to the critically acclaimed The Last of Us, which won an impressive 5 awards on the night.

Neil Druckmann said when speaking of the possibility of a new The Last of Us title “We don’t know yet,” and he added “We’re still trying to figure it out. We’re brainstorming some stuff, so we’ll see where that goes.

Druckmann also had something interesting to say on The Last of Us movie too, confirming that it will be an adaptation of the original story from the game.  Here’s what Neil had to say on the movie prospects, in which he will be writing the screenplay and the movie will be directed by Sam Raimi.

It’s an adaptation of the story of The Last of Us,” he added “As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film… We’re not sure yet. We’re only just scratching the surface.

We’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on the potential of a new game, do you want to see Joel and Ellies story continue after that ending? Or perhaps a tale from a character we met in the original game such as Joel’s brother Tommy or even Marlene?  Maybe you don’t want to see a new game and would prefer it to be left alone and what of the movie, how excited are you? (If at all)  Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
