This will come as no surprise, but a Gran Turismo 7 is already in the works for the PS4.  It won’t however release this year, so hopefully we’ll see it next year, but knowing the history of the Gran Turismo series, it could very well be longer than that.

The creator of Gran Turismo Kazunori Yamauchi was in attendance at this year’s Goodwood Festival and Eurogamer got a chance to chat with the man himself.  When asked about a PS4 sequel to Gran Turismo 6, Yamauchi said that “We are working on the title,” he then went on to say “I don’t think it’ll make this year”.  It was also revealed that thankfully we won’t be getting a prologue of the game before the release of GT7; instead they will jump straight into development of the main sequel, rather than a pre-taster.

He also stated that many of the standard cars that have been persistent since GT4 and then have kept up their appearance in GT6, will also carry on over to GT7.  Obviously they visuals and handling will be much improved for the PS4 instalment, but Yamauchi stated that many of those standard cars will be made into Premium cars for GT7.

News that will surely please Gran Turismo fans is that the sound is expected to be improved for Gran Turismo 7.  Many fans had complained that some of the cars in GT6 didn’t sound quite right and this problem will not only be fixed for Gran Turismo 7, but updates are planned in the near future to improve the sound in Gran Turismo 6.
