In a very welcomed announcement this week, Sony announced that PS5 cloud streaming is finally coming to PlayStation Plus. This is a service that’s been available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a while, so it’s certainly going to be a welcomed feature for subscribers.

PS5 cloud streaming will only be available with the PS Plus Premium tier, but at least it helps justify the recent price hike (somewhat) to Sony’s subscription service. Anyone who games on new-gen consoles whether it be PS5 or Xbox Series X|S will appreciate the benefit of playing top games without having to download them to to take up precious storage space.

Previously cloud streaming with PlayStation Plus Premium has been available for select PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3 and PS4 titles, but now select PS5 will soon join those ranks. What’s more, that is not all, because you will also be able to stream select games that you own, that might not be included in the PS Plus library. Happy days!

Depending on your internet quality, you will be able to stream PS5 games up to 2160p. However, you will also be able to drop that resolution to give performance a boost if needed. You will also be able to capture screenshots when streaming as well as up to three minutes of gameplay.

PS5 cloud streaming will arrive on PlayStation Plus on 23 October in Europe and 30 October in North America. Japan gets it a little earlier on 17 October.

As a side note, Sony has also announced the next batch of games to be included in October’s PS Plus 2023 library for Premium and Extra subscribers, as seen in the tweets above.
