To encourage PS4 players to stay at home in the hope of helping to slow down the spread of Convid-19 aka the Coronavirus, Sony has launched the Play at Home initiative and it includes giving away the brilliant Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for free.  Germany and China will get Knack 2 instead of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (which is unfortunate).

From tomorrow (April 16th) until Wednesday, May 6th, you’ll be able to download both games at no cost.  Journey is a true indie darling and a game that when I initially played it, I went into it knowing very little, but this is a truly magical game with a memorable way in which it connects you to other players online.  I don’t want to spoil anything, because I knew nothing of its “multiplayer” approach and when it happened, it’s one of my favourite memories in gaming.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection includes remasters of Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception, the latter two being two of my all-time favourite games from Naughty Dog (as well as The Last of Us of course), and if you’re yet to play any of these games, then you’re in for a treat.

Better still, if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus, the awesome Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is the free game for April, along with DiRT 2.0, so other then the PS Vita’s Uncharted: Golden Abyss, this month you can add the entire Uncharted series to your PS4 library.

In addition, Sony Interactive Entertainment has made a money pot of $10 million to help support Sony’s indie development partners to aid them through this challenging time.  Are you going to be downloading these free games? Unless you own them already that is.
